marshall jcm tsl 60 head? is it enough?

im thinking of buying the TSL 60 head (with 1960 cab). I've tried the amp in a shop and i love the tone, but its hard to tell if it's loud enough when you're just playing in a small booth. Anyone got one of these amps or know anything about them? Would it be loud enough for halls that can hold 400 people?

a 60 watt tube amp can get quite loud. If you need more volume I pretty sure it has a DI so you can run it to your PA system

I'd say it depends on how oloud your bandmates play, but in 99% of the situations you should be fine.

You can't really go wrong with a JCM head or combo...

But to clarify things... 60 watts of tube tone is the same thing as 120 watts of solid state tone. So you can expect 60 watts of tube tone to be pretty loud. I can almost gaurantee that you're not going to be playing any gigs that you're going to need much more than that. I have a JCM 900 with a '60 4x12 cab and I've never been able to turn the attentuator past 5 or 6. So realistically it's going to be loud enough for you... unless you're planning on playing huge concert venues... in which case I'd hope you'd be able to afford more than a 60 watt tsl. haha! But yeah, it's should be plenty loud. JCM's accross the board.

dude, a 60 watt Tsl head is more than loud enough for any band. You'll obviously mic it up and run it through the house system at shows, but you'd do that with the Tsl 100 as well...in fact,you'd do that with every other amp in the world.

If a 60 watt tube amp isnt loud enough in your band, turn down, cos you're playing way way way too loud

I have the TSL100 and it is a total monster. I think you will be fine with the 60 !

The 60 watter will have plenty of volume for any venue you play at. Plus, you'll be able to drive it a little harder than a 100 watt amp, so you can get a bit more power tube saturation (this is a very good thing).

What about a 60 watt Peavey 6505 212 combo? Would that hold it's own too?

I've got the 5150 2x12 combo, and it is rediculously loud! Absolutely no need for an external cabinet!

Dude, the 2x12 6505 is an awesome amp...as is any 6505/5150
