Hey all, new guy here and needed an opinion or two. I bought an Epiphone Black Beauty a couple months ago, and now I'm looking for a different sound out of it. I want something loud, with good crunch and low end, but also very bright treble. I want to go all out with it, so do you have any suggestions? Humbuckers I've been looking at are the SD Invader and SH-4 Distortion, DiMarzio Evolution and possibly the Drop Sonic. I know there's more out there, so what would you suggest? And being that it's a 3 hum guitar, what would be the best configuration? Thanks in advance.

i dont know much abt pups but i wud go with a 2hum one single coil set up for variation..but thats me...maybe the others can be of more help
welcome aboard btw!
A friend of mine has Bare-knuckle pickups in his LP, and they sound amazing IMO. I have dimarzio in pretty much all my guitars - evolution, breed or PAF Pro - all of which fit the bill in slightly different ways - the PAF Pro is the most 'traditional' if you like. If you want hot pickups you could look at Active's as well - EMG specifically.
For versatility, it might be worth considering buying tappable pickups so you can split the coils for more sounds, but it depends how confident you are doing that kind of stuff (or if you're gonna have someone else do it).
It's a very personal thing, so listening to the sound clips on the manufacturer's website and going for it is the only way... if it doesn't quite pan out, chuck em on ebay and try again. Have you found a guitar that has the sound you want for your LP? That could narrow the search for you.
And.... welcome to GT... :D

I've got the SD Invader in the neck of my LP and I could not be more pleased with it. I'm now starting to dislike my SD Dimebucker. I don't know what it is about it. It just don't feel right to me. I'll probably be replacing that one soon myself.
