Okay, so I've secured enough moolah to get a new electric after the upcoming HSC exams, and I've decided that I want a Les Paul-style guitar. The three hot options are the Epiphone Les Paul Standard (or perhaps the Custom), the Ibanez ARC100 Artist, and the ESP/LTD EC-100QM Eclipse. Which would you guys recommend and why?

My bass playa has the ibanez ar. It's a good guitar with real thick sound. Probably cause of the heavy, dense wood?

The pickups are really hot and muddy, I'd change them. Good choice though, has seperate volume and tone controls.

AGILE. (http://www.rondomusic.net/electricguitar-ss5.html)

they have superb Lp's.
the AL-2500 is extremly affordable and at a much, much better quality than Epi. I dont know so much about the others, but for the price, Agile is really the way to go LP-wise.

Used: Late 70's to mid 80's SG or SBG Yamaha. 1000, 2000 or 3000. Gibson couldn't compete. Not even close, for double the price of the Yamahas.

New: Agile. No question. It's scary how good these guitars are, and the price is amazing. Buy one before the company figures out how much they really should be charging!

Yeah, I'd look into Agile before anything. Get one swap the pups and it should be as good if not better than anything you can get.

You don't see Fender going around suing every company that makes a copy of a Stratocaster..... That's because at the end of the day... Fender still does it better.... Gibson sued PRS because at the end of the day... The PRS single cut was simply a better guitar...
