hey guys...
im usin an ibanez with Zoom effects pedal and wheneva i solo around the high frets, the high notes are really high and squealy to the extent of hurting my ears. LoL
ive tried turning down the treble and this works but then i find that i cant really hear harmonics and tapping very good.
Is there a way i can adjust the settings to have a nice chunky tone but not too high and so that u can hear notes played when tap[ping etc...?

- also thinkin of buyin a distortion pedal (maybe ibanez smash box) so that i can further adjust the distortion to what i want...

I think the sound slightly varies from pedal to pedal, because I got two friend who have ZooM 505s, & they both set A1 exactly like my A1 trying to get the same sound as me. But even if we try them all on the same guitar & amp we get different sounds. I mean, they all sound good, but different. I can probably help you out...but what kind of effects are you having the problem with (distortion, clean, reverb, etc.)? If it's on all of them, it could just be the settings on your amp. Keep in mind, the same settings on your amp are most likely built into the ZooM. I hope this helps. good luck.

I don't know if the zoom has an EQ setting but that's your solution. Just lower the frequencies that are causing the harsh sqealing while leaving alone the ones that produce harmonics. Another thing I've found helpful (on a Marshal stack at least) is an attenuator inline. That allows you to use more of the amps natural overdrive capabilities while still keeping the volume down.
