hahaha
Ive rocked non permanent dreds before.
I reccomend those. so even if you and everyone else hates it, it eventually washes out.
unlike the real stuff.

I think it's the most disgusting thing a person can do to their hair!

People with dreadlocks look like orangutans. If you have them, you can enter my house, but you can't touch anything, and you have to leave before night fall.

A buddy has em for many years now, but he gets his retied like once a week and they're pretty well kept. But every time I see some dude at a show with big long ones, I'm like, "Your cool, you haven't washed your hair for like 5 years."
dreadlocks CAN be maintained.. and they look better that way too. most people never maintain their dreads and they look real bad. i'd look pretty awesome if i had dreads.. my dad would kill me if i got them though.
I think they can work well with African hair. Other than that I'm not a fan :S

You can wash dreads, but you have to use this special stuff.
I'd never get them myself though, besides, I don't have the right hair for it.

I think he was going for the entire African races which would include Jamaicans and other Afro-Carribean peoples. ;)

My freind and I went to go see Cheap Trick and Alice Cooper last summer at wolf trap. It was a great show. Anywho, about 10 rows up to the left were a middle aged couple, both with white-blond 'locks down to thier waistes, and were swinging them around and whipping people in the faces while they were, um, dancing, if you could call it, they seemed to be having convulsions, hmm. Anyway, their locks were nasty, and werent taken care of. My freind had grown his hair out for a while (I cant really remember how long for, but it was A LONG time) Seeing that couple made him change his mind completly.... and shave his head.

I dated a girl in high school... and her little brother had dreads... He had some stuff that he washed his hair with everyday... it takes all the dirt and stuff out of the dreads but leaves the natural oils or whatever... His hair didn't seem dirty or oily though at all... and the stuff that he used left it smelling good... I don't like dreads personally... but to each his own. I can't remember what the stuff was called though. It was some hippie brand htough.

ya, I don't have 'em yet, but I was considering geting them. anyway, thanks. I think I'm gonna do it, and get some of that stuff aschleman was talkin about.:D
I had dreads for a while - basically in the final months of me having long hair (from age 0 to 25 pretty much).
I had 'em for about 6 months, kept them well and used a dry shampoo to wash them - still stank a bit if I'm honest.
My girlfriend pretty much told me if I didn't lose them, they'd just vanish one night...
So they went, I think what they look like has alot to do with the overall image - if I looked like a tramp anyway you'd assume I was filthy, but as I still dressed pretty well and just had dreads, I think they were OK... No worse than my crap long hair anyway....

Not my thing. I've been told my hair would dred well but... hell no.
hairstyles have alot to do with personality. i would look good with dreads but its not like me to have dreads. you get judged/stereotyped alot by hair.

at work, there's a customer who comes in every so often that has dreads that go down past his ass a couple inches... white guy too! but he has a goatee to compliment it though so it doesn't look too bad. I would never get them, but if want to, go for it! but if you're white, you need a goatee to compliment it, otherwise it just looks wierd. :D

Weirdo.....
It was her little brother... so everynow and then I'd have to beat up on him because he'd be annoying... and the first time I put him in a headlock I was scared that they would stink to high heaven... but they didn't. So I asked him why they didn't smell and he told me about whatever product he used...
Just to explain myself.... haha

Amen.... I still have a goatee going on.... I think blokes with long hair look weird without some beardie action too... :)
Plus, being able to see my chin again after so long would be strange. And, having spent a month or so in Orange County, my chin would be white but my face is brown..... hehe
