How many Cd's in your collection

I've only actually bought a couple cds in my life, I was raised in a secular-influence-intolerant environment so there are many indulgences I've never made a habit of.

At this point, I would say that I have around 400 or so....hey, what can I say? It's one of only a few indulgences.

I regard Cd's as ' Tools of the trade ', I think that my progress was impeded in the early years, by not having the right music to study

If you count double albums as 2 CDs and individual CDs of box sets, I have 141.

Aren't CD's kinda going the way of the record album by now?
I mean, I've got several hundred CD's and LP's but after backing them up to hard disk or MP3, I rarely use them.
I never buy CD's now unless I really need the audiophile quality of .wav files. It's easier to just download the album or pick selected songs. [so you don't get stuck with an entire album of crappy songs just for one good tune]

I've loaded all of them onto a hard drive and set my house up wirelessly so that my computer is my main source of music piped to any room in the house.

The space for all those cd's was killing me!

I had about 1000 vinyl LP's until I moved from Ottawa to Calgary back in 2000. I was in the process of replacing easily-damaged LP records with CD's, so I left most of them behind. I only have about 300 now. Plus about 600 CD's. :o

People say that I'm a compulsive second-hand-CD buyer, but still, I only have about 50-60 legit CDs. The rest are burned CDs of albums that I've borrowed from friends, or songs that I've downloaded off the internet. There's also my parents' record collection, which holds the family copy of Dark Side of the Moon (one of my most prized possessions, and it's not even mine :eek: ).

I probably have about 50 or so. I would hav emore but i use I-tunes a lot and probably have 3 or more CDs worth of music stored there.

Also i took advantage of the BMG offer. So all i have to do is buy one CD and i get like 7 or 8 free. They also have buy one get two free offers so i guess the final tally could be close to 50.

I'm a compulsive CD buyer... period... I probably have 150+ CDs...

I also use Imesh... my CD collection on my computer tallies it at 4000+ songs... which if the average CD has 12 songs... would come out to be about 334 CD's...................... Wow............ I guess I never realized that I had that much music......................... Oh well... I'm proud of my collection.

I have 2 full 48 diskholders and another half full. I know I have another 20 that are still wondering in their cases. So around 140. Like Blueraddish said, I loaded a lot of mine onto my harddrive and onto my Ipod.

Call me archaic, but I still enjoy paying for music...although I load the cds onto my mp3 player the moment I get home...

I have a few, maybe around 300? I know between my brother and I we had about 1200 a few years ago...not sure how many of them were mine...but most were his...

come to think of it, I probably have about 400, but alot of them are abrely played any more (my taste in music has changed quite a bit...luckily)

I'm the same way. I like to pay for my music... I like to have the cd with the actual art as well as the actual case art for it. I like to make collages of the case sleeves of cds that I buy... my walls in my room are covered with different album art... I'll have to take some pics sometimes... it looks pretty cool... and it reminds me of the ridiculous amount of money that I've spent on buying CD's... It also makes it a pain in the ass to find a song on my computer when I have almost 5000 songs.

I dont really keep music on my computer, and dont really download much either...if I do, its usually one or two songs I like, until I buy the album, or if those are the only songs off the album that I like.

I dont know why I do, but I also love having the originals...

I insist on buying the actual album, even though I only listen to the actual CD once before ripping it all on to my HD. At the moment I have 77 cd's, the last one I got was Muse's new album - Black Holes and Revelations.
