How do I set up the amps?

Every time when I go to Guitar center to try new things out.
I see other people playing guitar with "killer" sound~
like very metal sound(without any effector),but when I try
it out~ it sounds flat and weak~ I did turn on the overdrive
,but it just doesn't sound right~
Could anybody tell me how to set up the EQ for clean tone
and distored tone? thank you~^^

Not that easy to explain, as it depends on the amp that you are using.

I use a Fender ROC PRO 7oo.

settindgs as follows:-

SPOTLESS = trb=3 mid=5 bass=5 (normal )

SHATTERED GLASS = gain=3 treb=7 mid=9 bass=5

THICK N CREAMY = gain=7 treb=6 mid=10 bass=2-3

CHUNKY= gain=7 treb=6 mid=8 bass=2-3

AUSTIN BLUES = gain=4 treb=6 mid=8 bass=3

HOT ROD = gain=10 treb=4 mid=3 bass=3

reverb as you like really.

If you go the web site of the maufacturer of your amp they will probably send you details about settings etc.

if you dont have the money to buy a expensive amp just buy an distortion peadal. I recomend the BOSS MT-2 metal zone. It kicks ass
