Question for Floyd Rose setup users

hey guys,

me and my rythem guitarist both have floyd rose designed guitars, and this show is coming up where we're gonna tune down from E standard to Drop D, but the problem with our floyd rose setups is that when we de-tune the E string all the others go out, and it takes like 3 sessions of tuning all 6 to get them perfectly tuned.

I was wondering if any long term floyd rose users had any way around this?

You have to take into consideration that it is a "floating" bridge. There has to be an equal balance to keep your guitar in tune. If you detune one string you'll give the springs more pull and all your other stings will be pulled sharp. It seems tricky to work on at first but you'll get used to it. As far as your question, getting around it, I never thought there was... but recently I've seen a new tool that you add on to your springs that is supposed to keep them in tune even after adjusting. Displacer, I saw this gagdet at a music store that hooks on to the bridge at the low E string and lets you downtune with the flick of a switch.

I don't know how it works or what it's called, but supposedly it lets you downtune without having the other strings go out of tune.

That would be the EVH "D-Tuna". It works with Floyd-Rose tremolos' but not if you have the lo-pro or any other floating bridge models.
