View Full Version : Big trouble for a cheap guitar?

Hi.

I'm not especially worried about this as it's a cheap old guitar with massive neck warpage. I don't how the neck got to be that way, but I thought I'd try a little truss rod adjustment first. Unfortunately, I guess it was already over-tightened, because the truss rod nut popped off, taking the threaded part of the rod with it. Now, bearing in mind where the truss rod broke, is this guitar going to come to pieces in the next week or month or so, or will it be possible to use it as a slide guitar, and continue to bow very gradually? Oh, by the way, the rod is one of those ones with the hex nut inside the body of the guitar, no behind a plate on the headstock. Thanks.

By the way, I probably should've mentioned that it's an acoustic.

No, unfortunately I've no digital camera.

I think the neck has to be taken apart to fix that. Major expense, and not worthwhile for anything less than an otherwise wonderful guitar. Sounds like this one doesn't qualify.

Sorry.
