hi, i was hoping someone could put me in the right direction....
i'm just learning guitar about 2 weeks now. I bought a beginners books that has some chord stuff as well as alot of picking melodies. i am much better at reading and playing sheet music. i find a lot of the time i even start to play the notes without taking my eyes off the music. The Chord stuff is coming along much slower, I am almost able to switch between the c and g7 chord now when a week ago i thought it was a lost cause. also i've decideded that i need a metronome i'm having a hard time counting beats. anyways, i'm kinda looking for some more picking/note melodies to learn, but i much prefer to read sheet music than tabulature right now. is there any available on this site? if not maybe someone might know where i can find some. thanks alot

you can always find some good sheet music at a guitar center or your store of choice, but for online, go to www.musicnotes.com
it has sheet music for guitar and tabs in the sheet music, and check out the guitar guru, its a virtual guitar to help you learn

What he said and welcome to GT. It's a great place to hang out and learn whatever you need to about the guitar. I've learned about 60% of my guitar knowledge here. I only wish I found it sooner.

I would continue learning to read sheet music, but I would also learn how to read tabs as well. Tabs aren't that hard to read, and tabs were around before sheet music (for lute players.) A good free place to get sheet music for guitar is www.8note.com or it might be www.8notes.com. Something like that, google it if neither of those are right. Good luck!
