just found a used marshall VS65R

i just found a used marshall VS65R in the local musicshop. i did'nt get a chance to play it (im sure the owner would have giving me the amp, just to stop playing) :p , but is it any good for a newbie to play rock/metal on.
it was around 200$.

Those are the kind of deals some wait years for. I would like to find the 60's 50 watt by marshal. I heard it was jimi hendrix favorite, with 10 inch speakers.I'm, not sure how many 6 maybe. Fred my friend in Rode Island used to to find lots of stuff like that in the old pawn shops there. He could start with $10.00 and wheel and deal his way to as big a rig that he needed. He was not only the best player I've ever called friend, he was a master manipulator and swinger of deals. He did have quite a reputation there and in New York at the time. Never worked a job only hustled to be able to play. an
