Hi

I have an Ibanez RG550, black with maple neck, V7-S1-V8 pick-ups, 1999, made in Japan. Its probably the best guitar I've ever owned, and is in absolutely immaculate condition - but I want to upgrade.

Is the RG550 a desirable guitar on the second hand market? And if so, what price could I ask for it? I don't want to let it go at a cheap price...

Regards

Jay

Surf eBay to get an idea what kind of price they go for. Or just list yours, with a reserve price you're comfortable with.

i probably wouldn't expect to get too much for it though... there are a million of those guitars out there, and you can get a brand new ibanez without spending squillions, so the market forces are against you...

unless you need the cash for your upgrade, i would seriously consider holding onto said guitar. having a backup at gigs is always a good idea, you can have each of you guitars set up to different tunings if your into that sort of thing, or if you are recording, its always useful to have as many guitars as you can lay your hands on.

whenever i'm 'upgrading', i always look at what the guitar i'm thinking of selling is worth, and it usually works out that its worth more to me as a spare than i would get to sell it. perhaps this accounts for why i now own 9 of the suckers....
