I'm interested in buying a new electric, a Jackson. I've been looking at a couple of models and one of the models that seems to appeal most to my preference and style of playing (metal) and also fits within my budget (1,000-1600) is the SL3. Any suggestions/thoughts/ideas from owners of jackson guitars?

I'm gonna pretend to be Akira and tell you to get the SL2. Any high end Jackson will be worth the bread from what I've played. Always smooth as butter.

I've heard pretty good things about the SL3 as well, which appears to be significantly cheaper.

ive never have played the sl3, but i do own two jacksons, the rr3 and rr5.
they both have fast necks and handle very well.in my opinion, you really cant go wrong buying any jackson pro series guitars.

What if it were between a King V and a JS1200 ????

Woah woah, how did I miss this thread?

The SL2 is definetly awesome, but looks like it's outa your budget.

Hmm, imho Jackson > Ibanez. But the King V will probably do your head in after a while as it will be unusable when sat down.

Come to think of it, if you're considering the King V, then you definetly have enough for an SL1/SL2...

Can you put the bottom V between your legs like other guitarists usually do?

Get an SL1 or an SL2 then. :p

Same guitar just different pick up combinations.

SL1 = S/S/H
SL2 = H/H

Lmao!

I can so picture you with a huge perm, tight spandex pants, and a leather jacket with tassles, oh, and tassles on the neck of the Jackson too.

My mind... it burns. :p
