On one end of the spectrum, Eddie Van Halen is said to not ever clean his guitar, and lets all those years of grime accumulate. When he's on tour, he changes strings as they break. Then there are the fanatics who clean their guitars every single time they touch it, wiping it down and cleaning the strings.

Personally, I just make sure the guitar doesn't get dirty. I think for my acoustic I might get a humidifier and some sort of cleaning package. I also heard that lemon oil is good for rosewood fretboards.

What do you guys do to your guitar to keep it in tiptop shape?

After playing a gig i use a soft cloth like an old t-shirt,
to wipe the neck plus strings down do to sweatng ect.
Who wants grime on thier guitar.
When i change the strings i use a fretboard conditioner,
made by Gibson to clean the fretboards.
I just use a good furniture polish on the back of the neck&
body of my guitars.

I try not to ding mine up, and clean the crap off them every few string changes. I also try and keep them all in hardshell cases.
