I just got myslef a Peavey Rage 158 ampifier, the retailer said that the amp had onboard dist.. i tried it there wasn't any distortion.. that was after i bought it. THe manual said that there was a medium distortion but 2 me, it wasn't like it. The are knobs and button to adjust the settings... maybe that's the solution to getting heavy distortion.. plz help me out.

Hey warHATE, I happen to have exactly the same amp and I might be able to help you out on that.
To get the heavy distortion press the CHAN. button and set the PRE knob of the LEAD all the way to 9 or 10. Now turn the POST knob up to 2 or 3 and see if you like it. You can control the extent of distortion by setting the PRE to high or low within the range of 7-10.
I hope this helps. Someday we'll all own the Marshall stacks...;)

I have seen in the manual book that said that the distortion would depend on the guitar and the pick ups.. My guitar is an EpI and that my pick ups are loose... is it because of that? The pick ups? I still couldn't get the distortion

Make sure that your guitar volume is turned all the way up. A guitar with single coil pickups (like a Strat) will not distort as much as one with humbuckers (most Gibsons and Epis).
