okay so last night we had a practise gig for the competition(put ourselves as rock) anyway on this song i am playing lead, i used my les paul and i had a massive nosebleed in the middle, and i had no idea where my hands were so i messed up the solo alot because my head was tilting right back, anyway i moved further back on the stage to stop a mass of blood being seen, anyway the bassist kinda told me to tilt my head back so i did, but the amps where at an overhead angle and i wacked my head, and worse, my LP has a massive blood stain down the middle! i hope the competition doesn't go like this!

Damn! What a stroke of bad luck. I'm sure it was a random event and probably won't affectt your main gig.
If your nose bleeds during a show, just kick into a KISS song and say it was part of the show........

You should have gone into a mighty spurt of circular headbanging and sprayed blood all over the crowd whilst solo'ing.
I don't help much do I...

Sell your guitar to some weirdo death-metal guitarist - most of them would love a guitar with an authentic bloodstain on it  - and use the money to buy yourself a new one.

That really sucks. I'd leave the blood on...kind of cool.

As regards being serious.
It sucks that that happened, hopefully the judges of the competition will take that into account though, I doubt they'd mark you down for having an unplanned nose bleed half way through the set.
Edit: Upon re-reading your post, I see it was a practice gig, in that case, don't worry! I'm sure everything will go fine for the actual thing. :)

Well, you guys could always switch to Death Metal. Then your bleeding everywhere would just be part of the show!

If guitar polish/cleaner and a rag aren't enough, then I have no idea.

Or, you could cover the guitar in blood from future nose bleeds and just have a red guitar.
Rock 'n' Roll. \m/

I had a random nosebleed on the busride home from my grade 8 field trip. My entire class and their parents were all there. I was humiliated to say the least.

A damp (not wet) soft cloth should get most of it off. Then use some guitar polish.
Do NOT use furniture polish, as that junk often contains silicone, and you really don't want to find out what kind of grief that can cause if you ever need to get the finish touched up or redone!
Have a doctor check out your nose. A staph infection can cause random nosebleeds.

I know about the problems with silicone because I've seen the 'fisheyes' it causes.
I know about the staph infection nosebleeds because I've had 'em.

He has a point though; I bet you could hold this whole site up with just your knowledge alone.
I'm not being sarcastic with that either, you seriously know... everything.
Ok, that's enough arse licking for today.
