yo home dawg you got some skilz under those fingers. i dont know how you get that tone. I'd think its a professional band if it was on the radio. if you made up those leads on your own, man thats good. better than me anyway. im not that creative.. i sound like im going up and down scales.

thank you, that means alot....this is one of two "softer" songs on the cd the others are pretty "hard"..the cd has a concept/storyline to it...i played guitar straight into my 100 watt crate blue voodoo halfstack
neck pick up mainly and some bridge also.... some doubling as well here and there... actually i'm stuck in one blues scale all the time when i'm not doing the one string thing up and down the neck  it still needs some more mixing though....levels adjusted----panning etc.
i thought i was the only person who does this up and down one string scale... this scale sounds sorta classical ish. i know canon was based off this and stuff, and alot of other songs like ode to joy..
1-3-5-6-8-10-11...
what's your guitar?

Well done, mate! The lead guitar on this track really stood out - it had a lot of impact, both tonally and structurally. The riffs had an appropriate grinding, trudging sound, tying in very well with the tone of the lyrics. As much as I try, I can't really pick a fault - awesome work!

I like most of the leads in this context. I think your singer is WAY over the top, and terrible for these melodies. Also, I think you need a new lyricist. Other than that, the music is pretty good.

Sounds good. The leads are great imo. Could be wrong but sounds like a bit of Slash influence?

my thoughts as well.....unfortunately. how do you tell your bass player that you need an experienced singer with a "good sounding voice"......(considering he has the practice location)

These lyrics are pretty awful, I'll say now that I know they're not yours. I held back because I didn't want to make you feel terrible.
Oh, and when he says "A LITTLE DOWN" in the demon voice, I want to shoot myself out of embarassment for him. PS, this is a song about a ****ing vibrator, so it should at least be funny. "Pleasure and pain/Love's hateful reign" Simply horrendous. I hope this is supposed to be a joke song, because then all it failed at was being funny. If it's serious, it failed at being poetic and even half decent. Lyrically I mean. The band's not bad. You guys could have radio play if your singer wrote better melodies and lyrics.

The acoustic at the beginning sounded kinda off, I'm not 100% sure how, the timing just sounds wierd. but from the start of the first lead onward it sounds fine. also, the vocals from 3:22 onward are terrible. I like the voice of the vocalist through the rest of the song though, though the lyrics kinda suck like jolly said. I really like your leads though, but I think that they could be a little louder, and maybe turn your mids up a little more. overall it was really good though!
man all i listened for was the guitars considering he's the guitarist for the band. thats not his voice and thats probably a good friend of his. he cant just tell him to leave. there's nothing wrong with the guitars and thats all he could control.

yep...the timing is off, but so is that guitarist to afghanistan :D . i'm not an a-hole but i did not like him and he volunteered to go. we have a new guitarist and he is cool imo---things will change. we have tried to fix the timing but we can't.

thanks jolly for your input, i think he was trying to be silly and let the listener think it was serious....@#$$ i don't know. with the other songs on the cd it does not fit at all. he has a frank zappa fetish i think

I have a Frank Zappa fetish, too. But I'm aware that, unlike Frank, I'm not an absolute ****ing GENIUS.

Yes, but I'm trying to help him with his band as a whole, because that's what every member of the band is supposed to care about, the whole sound, not just his particular part. If he wants to release a CD that only five people will buy because the singer is not very good, nor are his melodies catchy enough, then he shouldn't say anything.

Besides, if you're gonna sound like Pride and Glory mixed with Pearl Jam the whole Zappa element is really no longer an option.

That's what I mean, sorry, I was responding to pure, not chastening you or anything.
you have some skills. screw the singer. if they cant get a better guitarist and it seems like youre not happy with the band anyway, show some brinkmanship and threaten to leave. it doesnt seem like youre getting anything from the band.
sorry jolly... that rhymes sorta

hmm, where to begin....
.... at the beginning?
The acoustic track has to be redone. At times is seems like its actually pulling the drummer off tempo! Maybe a 12-string. Stroke it, and let it ring.
I like that the mix allows the vocals to be heard clearly. I'm embarrassed by what I'm hearing, though. :o New lyrics, and a singer with better pitch.
Good playin'!

Yeah the singer needs to work on his chops a little bit but I think he's salvagable if he conforms to your bands style of playing because the music was rather good. If you try to play to his voice you'll end up sounding like Creed or something and you don't want that right? I shouldn't say anything I'm not great at writing or singing either.
