Has any GT member that you know of ever died?

Dude, I think about that quite frequently. How would we know if they died? They'd just stop showing up and we'd just assume that they're too busy. None that I know of.

GT members don't die. GT members multiply.

Yeah, I can't stop thinking about it either. My friend is a member on the Pearl Drummers' Forum, and there was this thread once commemmorating some well-liked member who got in a car accident and died. All I could think was "wow, how did they find out?"

Someone on the Pearl drummers forum died? I was wondering why the world suddenly felt like a better place.

it depends on how well the guy/girl is known on the forum, never experienced someone dying on a forum, though they could've, many that were never heard off again

reminds me of a band from around here, that made a song 'crash and burn' about a friend of theirs, who had a car accident, I really respect such things

jiujitsu_jesus

That's such a terrible thought... I mean, people could still be talking about the person who died as if they were still alive, for some time after they actually died. Sorry, that was a retarded sentence , but you get what I mean, don't you? I mean, Stackny was away for the past week; imagine if we'd been having conversations about him, and expecting to hear all his news from him, and he'd died in a car crash while he was away - we'd have absolutely no way of knowing.

Is acapella dead, or defecting from Canada or something? Haven't seen much of him lately.

He's probably just hiding out. He doesn't want to get banned, and everything he says is highly offensive.

Ha, the funny thing is all you have to do on an internet forum is not write s***. I do realize, however, that you're probably joking and I just made myself look like an idiot. :p

acapella won that tonja renee song thing so he was here.. and also what if you both die? and why do we care? if we stop writing to the forums, we're dead to the forums. if we die, we're dead to the forums. both ways were still dead, and maybe even if we all chatted and stuff, we really dont know each other and dont even know if we were rally friends. we dont know each other. thats' like donald trumt dieing and everybody in the world crying. if bill gates dies though, i guess ill leave my computer off for 24 hours.

When other people die... I'm just glad it wasn't me or someone close to me. That's just the way I am. If someone close to me dies I'm still glad it wasn't me most of the time.
If I died I wouldn't want anyone over the net to know so that they could pretend to be sad and post lame things. I wouldn't want to be one of those people who die in high school either. It's so ridiculous to see the amount of people who didn't even know the person cry and **** just for the attention.

I dunno - I think many of those people cry because, naturally, they're shocked and upset by death, albeit the death of somebody they didn't really know. But I'll agree that some of the eulogising and commemoration after a death can be attention-seeking and sycophantic, eg. barely-casual acquaintances of the person in question who suddenly become their bereaved best friends after the person's death.

what he said, we're all human, everyone deals with death his own way, some take advantage from it, like getting all the attention on them, maybe without even realizing

Hm... translating this to music... The death of Kurt Cobain....... The majority of grunge fans preferred Pearl Jam over Nirvana until it became cool to mourn the death of Kurt Cobain by going out and buying tshirts, cds, and other NIrvana/Cobain memorabilia...

I think the same thing happens in high schools when a student dies. It becomes a quick lived fad to mourn the death of a student... because everyone talks about it and everyone knows it's not cool to be left out... but in most cases of suicide in high school... I reference Blink 182's 'Adam Song' "another six months I'll be unknown"

I haven't seen the motorcycle. But I have taken notice to what they've been doing with everything else. It seems like death is the ultimate marketing ploi. I mean, look at Tupac and BIG... their record sales soared after their deaths. And everything else that goes a long with either of them... and they still come out with a new cd every few years that seems to go platinum.

Death is the grandest of all marketing schemes...

for a while I was wondering if Dr Simon had died. becuase he wasn't on here for a real long time. now he posts occasionally, so I know he's alive, but I knew there was no way of knowing for sure if he was dead, and it just killed me!

btw, I care enough about the people here that I would want to know if someone died. I think we should all write it in our wills that if we die that someone must come on here to inform us.

If I wrote a will, I'd actually might consider having a part about informing GT. That seems very odd though.

I was just thinking a few minutes ago about leaving some sort of trail of clues all across the globe so when I die, some future Indiana Jones type can go on a huge adventure in a quest to find my GT password and inform everyone that I have passed away.

I figure the password should be written on parchment and kept on a chipped marble pedestal in some dank underground secret tomb in a Mongolian temple in the middle of the jungle or something. That would be cool.
