That dot shows a member's online status.
Green = online
Blue = offline
If you put your mouse pointer on the dot for a few seconds, a text box will appear, confirming this.

That shows your reputation status. You "have made some friends around here".
If you click on the Account button in the toolbar just above the thread, and then scroll down to the bottom of the page, you will see a window headed "Latest Reputation Received". Next to the title is the number of points you have. The table below that shows who has given you reputation points, when, and for what thread/post.
The text that appears when someone mouses-over the square green dot changes, according to how many points you have. You can add to someone's reputation by clicking on the scales icon (looks like a Libra zodiac sign) next to the post number of their post.

The green dot means that you're fertile.
The red dot means that you're on your period.

Mine doesn't say who I got the rep from. Yours does?

Only if they say in the little comment part or if you can decipher what they leave to know who it is. I'm sure you knew it was me who left you points right?

Yeah. Thanks for that, by the way. I keep tryin to give rep to people who say funny things, but it says I need to spread it around first.

I know what you mean. I don't think I can give rep points anymore. Ever since my birthday thread every time I try it don't let me. I wonder how much spreading it around you have to do? I mean we shouldn't have to give rep points to a few non-participating members just to able to hook the regulars up again.

I never, ever get rep points. Ever. Even if somebody says they're going to give me them, I don't know if they do, but I never get them. I've gotten from three people. And I post all the time, I'm sure that I've said something rep-worthy by now. The only time I've gotten is in Pet Peeves when I commented about it and from Magicninja because I know earthman. I know it sounds like I'm begging, but I'm not, I don't really care if I get it I just think it's weird that I haven't.

On the maroon-coloured toolbar above the thread, click on "Members List". Then click on the "Reputation" heading at the top of the column with the little green squares in it. The membership list will be sorted by number of reputation points, with the highest at the top. That's Jolly.

There's some people in the top twenty-five or so who I've never even heard of...
I think I deserve some extra rep for pointing that out ;)

4000+ posts (with no spam) at GT vs 200 posts at HR.com, guess which one has given me more rep points !!

I have more rep points at Pear Drummers Forum. I have less than a hundred posts and don't own drums.

I only hang at one other forum. I don't think it has rep points. And I haven't gotten any here since mid-December last year. No biggie.

A recent shake up in the rankings:
Doc Simon musta had a huge day or two to climb to #1! Yay Doc!
LATS Remains anchored to the #2 position
I have Stayed consistant at #3
Jolly's recent transgressions whatever they were have him losing the top spot and plummeting to #4
6strngs rounds out the top 5
