View Full Version : Something funny that happened at supper

My little brother Connor is a huge KISS fan, and I always make fun of him for it. He’s always strutting around the house singing his godawful KISS lyrics. Today I noticed a KISS song he put on Media Player called “Two Sides of the Coin.” I found it to be a hilarious title for a song, so at suppertime I asked him to sing it for me. He did, and I laughed my ass off. So I kept naming other KISS songs that I thought had funny names, and he would sing them. It was great fun. Then, all of a sudden, he burst out singing the phrase “Silent Lucidityyyyy.” He did it so falsetto-y I wasn’t exactly sure what he said.
Me: (laughing) “What did you just say? ‘Silent Lucidity’?”
Connor: “Yeah….”
Me: “That’s lame! Is that a real song?”
Connor: “Yeah, but not a KISS song.”
Me: “Well who sings it?”
Connor: “I dunno…..Queensdouche or something….”
At this point I couldn’t contain my laughter.
Me: (pissing myself) “You mean Queensryche?”
Connor: “I guess…..”
Ha. Queensdouche.

If I may quote a few lines from "Do You Love Me?".....
You really like my limousine
You like the way the wheels roll
You like my seven inch leather heels
And goin' to all of the shows, but
Do you love me, do you love me
Do you love me, really love me
And that, good sir, is what is wrong with KISS. Also wrong is Paul Stanley's introduction to "Cold Gin":
"How many of y'all like the taste of ALCOHOL?"

Is any thread really its own thread anymore? Someone posts a thread and an average of five posts pass until the topic has changed. So essentially what's it matter where you post? It'll be an old topic by the end of the day anyway.

anyone seen hide and seek? it was really good IMO..
how about Dark water? that one was OK.. not great though
How about Lord of war? that one was actually really good. not like the best movie ever, but it was really good
I've seen alot of movies lately, can you tell? I have one of those movie pass things, so I take out as many movies as I want for one monthly fee.. so I've been watching a different movie every night.. I'm running out of new releases though, so I'm going to have start pulling some oldies off the shelves.

The last movie I saw was Hostil.... I'm traumatized for life now... That was just sick.... People told me - Oh you have to go see it - so I did and it was just... well sick.

Really? I absolutely hated it. Like, I left the theater wishing they no longer shove any more poorly written dialogue all but dragging me to its obvious and precedented conclusion. Oh no, it was Robert DeNiro the whole time? Who'da thunk it!?
Then just that total garbage anti-climactic ending. Yeah, yeah, she shot him...ohhh nooo there might be a new crazy split personality, though! WATCH OUT!
Oh, ps, spoiler alert.

Unfortunately, somebody actually told me the ending before I saw it, so I found it a bit grating. I would've found it pretty grating anyway, though, with De Niro's acting...

Hide and Seek was a pretty good film... but forgettable. As with Dark Water... I actually just saw Lord of War last weekend and I thought it was one of Cages better movies...
Some movies you might want to check out... if you haven't already seen them... Crash (a newer movie... one of my favorites), Pulp Fiction, Dazed and Confused, A Man on Fire, The Professional, Donnie Brasco, Blow, Gus Van Zants Last Days (based on Kurt Cobain), Empire, if you like Tom Cruise and haven't seen it yet... A Few Good Men... if you like plot twists check out Basic with Travolta... War movies: Black Hawk Down, Thin Red Line, Navy SEALs (cheesy but still good), Sniper, Behind Enemy Lines, GI Jane...
Haha... theres gotta be a few in there that you haven't seen... I also went and saw Running Scared with Paul Walker... I'm not a fan of Walkers previous works but this one is actually not too bad... Its got some very Terrentino like scenes... I recommend it.

well, I rented Mr. and mrs. smith tonight, I saw it in theaters w/ my gf at the time. so, I didn't really see the whole movie if you know what I mean.. so I thought I'd rent it to watch what I missed.. as I recall, it was a pretty cheesy movie, but it had enough explosions to keep my interest. lol
I'm really into horror movies though.. though the movie I watched last night (house of 9) was pathetically stupid, and I'm pretty sure it was a british movie, since every single character had a british accent (except the stereotypical black guy, as portrayed by racist british white people, who had like an african accent) seriously, one guy said "laboratory" and pronounced it "luh-bore-a-tory" and I was like.. dude, this movie isn't going to be scary.. no offense to british people at all, I've just never seen a british movie that I liked.. and that one dude, hugh grant or whatever, I hate every movie I've ever seen him in. grr..
