Anybody tried filing their taxes using the Netfile phone service. For the last 10 years I've been wasting $50 on software, putting it off for a month and then spending all day long doing my tax return or going to H&R Block or whatever...then waiting a couple of months for my return.
This time, I tried the phone service and had my friggin return done in less than 5 minutes. No paperwork ... just answered about 20 questions with the T4 slips in my hand and pressed a few buttons. And the return is being sent out in 2 weeks.
Like... holy crud... :D

I've been contemplating doing it over the phone. I hate dealing with the paper work as well. Assuming that it's an automated walk you through it answering machine, is it hard to follow? Is Netfile limited to Canada only? And finally, was it free?

The one I used is probably just for Canada cause it asks for a SIN number and does GST calculations etc.
They must have a U.S. version though.
There's a 4 digit access code printed on your tax return & you use that to log in. Then just follow the directions. Once you get used to the prompts you can anticipate the questions and just hit the 1 or 0 button for yes or no, then enter the amount and go on to the next line.
I was literally done in under 5 minutes.

I'm not trying to sell anything, y'all know me here.
I did my taxes with Taxslayer (http://www.taxslayer.com/) and was very impressed. It cost $9.95 (the fee to efile with the IRS) and took less than 15 minutes to do. I gave them my bank account number and had my refund direct deposited right in within 2 weeks.
Just get a copy of your W2s and away you go. I also considered turbotax but heard better things about taxslayer.

I go to H&R block. They charge a big dollar but I had $2500 the next day. I hate to wait.

my tax return is only going to be like $140.. but I'm sure I'll spend it all, all the same (probably on some nice speakers or stereo for my car)
