As my girlfriend and I just broke up, I hate Valentine's day and will be complaining about it. As per normal, I've had a different attitude about it every year depending on whether or not I've had a girlfriend at the time.

I dunno, the holiday itself probably started as a good idea, but now it's just a big marketing gimmick and it's advertised in such a way that we're obligated to buy things for people. Where's the heart and love in an obligated purchase? If you ask me, it's the things that are done through out the rest of the year just because you wanted to that matter and that doesn't even necessarily mean you've been buying ****, just not limiting yourself to a selection of days each year that you show your mate how you feel. That being said, do I need to state where my vote went?

Ah yes. Sweetest day. I live in Ohio and I'm familiar with the stupid day. It was originally started during the depression and was based around giving the homeless and others who were going through a hard time gifts. Nowadays it's Valentine's Day II. There are a couple other states around here that celebrate it too, but you can count them on one hand.

now that was the idea that i liked,because im one of the peoples who HATE valentines day, probably because i have never had a girl friend, and at my school there is always at valentines ,a hugh day, and then i a always have to put up with over exited girls who think that this is really fun and everyone likes it and we are so funny and beautiful and everyone is our friends. :mad: they all could just go away and leave me alone because everytme they come smiling, (they probably cant stop it, maybe grug's?) i would just want to grab them and them shake them jelling that can't stop smiling and try thinking!! but that is impossible because they are so ****ing stupid .......(i leave the next word to your imagines so that everyone can try to guess what i was going to say because that was a wery naughty word what i was thinking and it would be wasted because the sensur takes it off. :p )

All the jerks get all the dumb girls. Y'know. The ones that don't have the sense to know that they're dating a jack ass and only defend him and side with him in times of conflict with others out of principal. Neither one ever really thinks about their actions, just assumes that they're always right. Sure they'll make claims like "I know I'm not perfect" but actions speak louder than words, as it's said, and their actions will obviously show their stubborness as well as their ignorance and in the end they'll end up having kids by mistake and forced to live as parents for the rest of their lives because they never thought about consequences in any situation, let alone one that can change the rest of your life. The father will try and teach the kids to not do what they did because it's finally starting to sink in that things have to change, but since actions still speak louder than words, the kid will ultimately see their father as a jerk and will in turn be guided by this and grow up to become a jerk. The mother will probably get fat. She'll prattle off every now and then about being kind and caring to others while telling their child that God/Santa (depending on the time of the year) is watching them and they'd better be good or they'll go to hell/get no presents for Christmas (again, depending on the time of the year) even though she'll have no problem yelling profanities out the window and giving the finger at the guy that just cut her off... while her kid is sitting right next to her.

anyways, yeah, there are some stupid girls out there, and yeah, you can get burned, hard (trust me, I know). but there are some good girls out there.. they are alot more abundant in college I've noticed, but you can find some high school girls who have their head in the right place.

That describes a large proportion of the girls that went to my school. They'd hand out insults etc whenever they could (even though they were heavily unjustified), I never reacted to it as I knew I'd eventually get my revenge.

Now when I walk around town a couple of years later, I see them all pushing prams; it's hilarious. Just a shame their kids will probably grow up to be little turds.

My town has the highest teenage pregnancy rate in the whole of Europe. Figures.
