ok, i have £5 money a week, i would really like to record myself. i want something cheap that can mainly be used far from a computer.
any help. if you do the math i don't mind saving for UP to seven months.

Check out the Korg Pandora PXR. Its a four track standalone digital recorder... and it would be easy to transfer the files onto computer if you wish to do so... Its about 250-300 USD... not sure what that is in your currency.

i sure will, i will let you no by playing. the digital one looks good, not to far out of budget. i might get a tape one and use the rest of the £ to get a new amp or something.

or if you want to do it cheap and easy, you can record via computer mic strait onto the computer.

thats how i started recording. if you get good at it, you can do it so noone even knows you used a comp mic.

Could I get a decent mic for such a recorder?

I remember a friend bringing over a 4-track tape recorder. We put it on top of his guitar amp. Then we put it on top of my bass amp. And the end result sounded like utter barf.

I would need a decent recording mic I could run into the thing. Also, how do you make for passable acoustics in... say... the living room of a one-bedroom apartment? Or in a bathroom or closet or something? One scheme I've had is to put the amp/cab in a cardboard box that's lined with blankets or towels but then I don't know if I'd be able to hear myself playing good enough.

I use to plug in direct for vocal tracks, but you just get straight vocals since there are no effects.

how can u get a good mic hooked up to ur comp? any adapters out there or comp friendly mics? and how can u record long tracks on ur comp? minell only go up to a minute in that sound recorder thing
