Here's something I came up with tonight while messing around with my drum machine and my guitar. Let me know what you think. Positive or negative, doesn't matter. I've only been playing for a little over a year so I know I'm not very good yet. But I'm open for suggestions anyhow..... :)

I love your rythm work man! You have tremendous songwriting potential. :D

Thanks man! I really appreciate that. I've been teaching myself and really wish i had a someone to jam with and bounce ideas back and forth with. That's what GT is for I reckon. :D

I totally agree with magicninja. Your rhythm is sounding really good, you've definately got a good sound going on there.
The lead needs some work, especially the tone. I'm sure with your digitech wonder-machine you should be able to get something a little nicer to listen to ;)
This actually reminds me of a song that I made when I'd been playing for just over a year. I kinda miss those days actually, I'm almost sure I've lost some of my original songwriting that I had back then.

Thanks man! I wasn't sure about the tone as well only because I record late at night with headphones on. I'm making some adjustments though and hopefully I'll start busting out some nice lead work before too long. Practice...Practice...Practice. :D

Some nice mellow ideas there, I would suggest a thicker lead tone played off the neck with more sustain and vibrato so the notes flow more naturally together (no gaps). Just my opinion though. You should be able to get some nice tones out of the GNX for that allright;-) Try downloading some settings from the digitech website.

Thanks superhuman. I'm working on my lead so I can clean it up some. It does sound pretty much like a buzz saw over the rythym. I'm going to change it up later and will repost it by tonight.

yeah, definatly a bit too treble of a lead. and as superhuman said, if your going to go slow, you might as well let your notes ring out long.
but sometimes slow isnt so great- try actually writing out a lead instead of improvising. (which im guessing your doing) it always sounds better, and that backing has easy potential :D

Again, nice work! Rythm tone and chord progression is nice and lush. Nice work on the lead as well. I'll agree with the rest in maybe using a bit fatter tone possibly on your neck pickup, and let the notes ring out/sustain a bit more with a little vibrato to give it some more emotion. Keep up the great work! ;)

hey hey. I found the song I made that this reminded me of. I'd been playing just a year when I made this back in 2003. Bear in mind that my guitar and equipment back then were even crappier than what I have now.
