Band Web Sites

We want to make a website of the band. I have the knowledge to make a site so I'm the one who's actually gonna make it then.
But on the other hand i made in the past an other site and it took me an awful lot of time.
Besides all the other work for the band I do i want to know if there are other players/bands who have websites.
So yes, is it worth it, do you get reactions, sell CD's, get shows etc.
Otherwise i rather spend my time to the guitar.

I don't sell CD's and get gigs because of my band's web page, but it's a presance. We're just starting out, so it's more to say "we're here" than anything else. An easy way for people to keep in touch with us. I get compliments on it all the time, so I know people who know us check it out.
