View Full Version : yet another child prodigy
Yes i know i'll spark up debates on how all you virtuoso's are much better - but this guy looks like he's 15 or so and shreds like nobody's business - wish i had half his speed

he's pretty good, but i wouldnt say he's 15. he looks older than that.
yeah, that was pretty listenable shred, i enjoyed it.
but my personal favorite virtuoso is right here. (http://www.guitarshredshow.com/) :p

wow.. that kid is amazing!!!
watched a couple... I quite liked 'Isabella'... although it was a bit cheesy, and some of his facial expressions made me wonder if it was a kinda police squad guitar spoof show :D
As far as I could see, most of his fast stuff was chromatic, which isn't too hard to achieve.... it was musical though, which for guitarist internet sites makes a nice change....
Cheers for the link man.... one of the better ones, though I agree there's no way he's 15... well into his 20's I reckon

Just when I thought it was going to be a link to another kid who can play Malmsteen/Paul Gilbert licks over and over with no emotion.
I was impressed.
Not 15 though.

Very impressive, I liked his tone and thought the phrasings were great, some nice neo-classical runs too. There's no way he's 15 though, 25 maybe!

I don't care how old he is if this guy don't make it I quit. I want that site to be in English someday. I can decipher a little but not much. I think it's Portuguese and he's a poor Brazilian boy (not for long). What astounds me is the tone he is squeezing from that Ibanez and that little amp. Who needs a $10,000 set up anyway. I pretty sure I seen that they have some tabs of his on that site. Anybody speak Portuguese?

Well, now....
That was humbling....
I think he's about half my age...
And I won't live long enough to play that well. :o

Did you see his amp LATS?
Lordathestrings
01-07-2006, 10:12 PM
One of those POS modelling amps wasn't it?
On that last track he had a new axe with the entire neck scalloped out.
I wouldn't want his gear, or trade skills with him either.
Humbling, as I said, very impressive. But I couldn't listen to a whole album of that stuff. It doesn't satisfy me?

LAM Valve Holy Sound II? Ever heard of it?
Lordathestrings
01-07-2006, 10:33 PM
No, never heard of it. But with as much front-end distortion as he's using, it really doesn't matter what kind of amp he's playing into. A solid-state Randall with a Digitech Bad Monkey pedal can sound like that. Lots of harmonics jumping out, but way too much compression, no 'touch' to the distortion.
He's a brilliant player, probably one of the most musical players I've heard in that genre, but I don't much like his sound, and I wouldn't pay to go to one of his concerts. So I'm gonna bow out of this thread, and leave it to people who do enjoy it. He certainly deserves a large audience. :)

Thanks LATS. To be truthful I never enjoyed shred all that much but this youngster can really play. I searched the hell out of that amp but nothing. Dammit I wish that site was in English.

That guy Rocks! I don't care how old he is! im not even a fan of that type of music but he rocked. its people like this that make you wonder, why aren't they famous. He definatly has the talent. Its kind of disheartening to an inspiring musician such as myself. I could be the best guitar player in the world and still not be recognized. My guitar teacher is like this too, he can play just about anything but still is just teaching guitar lessons to crummy players like me. oh well

Exactly, this kid is far from the fastest players out there but he is fast. However, its not his speed that distinguishes him as a great player but his musical ability. Sure it's a bit cheesy in places (not unlike Frank Gambale) but it's still very listenable and melodic. I'd like to see anyone who bashes this kids abilities post a clip of themselves playing at a higher standard.

It's a prime example of how being a successful musician is just as much about knowing the right people as it is the music itself.

So I e-mailed about the amp. The response came back in broken English. It seems it is a modeling amp to some degree as it has an amp simulator. It does have a preamp built in with 2 12ax7's. The guy was quoting most of the prices under $1000. I just don't know if that's Brazilian money or US money. I tried calling to Brazil to speak with him but as he can't speak English well and the closest I got to Portuguese is Spanish you can imagine the disaster that was. The amps are made in a small factory by hand in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I think they might be worth a shot. If anyone wants a copy of the E-mail just hit me up.

That dude was really skilled. My guess is at least in his 20's. Like someone said before, the impressive thing was the accuracy with which he played. But would I be wrong if I said the Isabella video was a bit queer :p

I knew he wasn't a teen. I think I will be getting the amp he was using but Moises said that he has a better model. I can get a 2x10 combo for $350 US. The shipping will be outragous but I think it'll be worth it.

Look for it in gear review in about a month. He builds them custom and made to order. He said on average it'll take him a month to build and test and all that Jazz. Then the slow ride from Brazil...probably mid-February early March. Just in time for my birthday. :D

I'm getting a Holy Sound II 2x10 with tube preamp and red boost high gain channel for $350 American money. The shipping is $150.00  . I thought it would be worse than that though. So $500 total Which I think is just dandy. Across the Atlantic it might cost a few more pounds or euros whatever. Damn Europeans and thier weird currency.

Oh yeah the amp deal fell thru. It became clear that actually getting my money over there was going to be more hassle than it was worth. Still $500 was cheap for what sounded like a good tube amp combo. Ahh well that's life.
