+----Schecter C-1 CLassic----+

Price: $700
Construction: Neck-thru-body
Pickups: Seymour & Duncan, JB at bridge, SH-2N at neck.
Bridge: Tone pro locking bridge
Neck: Maple, Rosewood fretboard with vine-of-life pearloid inlays
Frets: 24 jumbo
Body: Mahogony with maple top
Binding: Natural body binding and creme binding on the neck
Color: Transparent Blue with chrome hardware.

Pros:
- All thru neck makes upper frets easy to access.
- Tuners stay in tune.
- Frets are semi-flat on top which seems to help with bends.
- Has great lows and clear crisp highs.
- Very good sustain.
- Finish is superb.

Cons:
- A pain in the buttox to get the strings through the fronside hole.
- Selector switch sometimes cuts the sound if you hit it.
- As usuall, the input nut comes loose ever so often.

This is guitar is just awsome. The finish is smooth and mind blowing. The fret inlay is beautiful, and still provides the side dots. The frets proide smooth, easy bending. It came stock with S&D's and sounds tremendous. When splitting the coils, the sound is lowered but puts out a srtat like tone (sounds like you have two singles selected on a strat.) The neck and middle pickup selections are a little bassy for me while I play with a dirty sound, but sounds very good when playing clean. Guitar is more than suitable for blues playing styles. When hit, the selector switch sometimes cuts the sound, but rarely do I get close enough to hit it while playing.

This is overall a really good guitar, it's a great transaction from a crappy strat copy.

I got the 3 Ttone Sun Burst. I got it about a month ago. I love it.
As far as the switch goes mine was also cutting out.I called up Schecter they told me to tighten the switch, I had some electronics cleaner and asked them if it was ok to spray it, they told me to go for it. I took the back cover off removed the two screws holding the switch in, pulled it with the wire attached away from the body and sprayed, Coveing the body of course, that stuff will eat the finsish. It works great, I didn't have to tighten the swich. They also sent me a new switch.. I guess when they do warratee work you do it...

My switch craps out only in the bridge position. It has to be in just the right spot for it to puck up right, but it's getting worse and worse. Static is being introduced because of it now. I figured some wires are loose or something. Seems like that might be a common thing with the Schecters. I think I should look into this more.

I was going a little crazy today when i was playing, nd if you hit the strings hard enough, the low E will slide off the saddle. It actually stays in tune as well, just slightly lowered pitched. But after playing the strings fairly hard (and the E doesn't slip), it stays in tune.... Just some more info.

That's happened to me before with a new set of strings. I figured it was just because I wasn't used to a TOM bridge. don't have that problem now though.

Doesn't that depend on how it's set up though?

Well, I tried messing with the truss rod but its still kinda high. I'm gonna take it to a shop and have them do it.

I have the 3 tone sunburst and it is awesome. Best guitar you can buy for that amount of money, hands down.

well the Strat and Schecter are totally different guitars with IMO the same quality. It would depend on what kind of music you want to play.

I play mostly lead with a smooth, full-rounded tone.

I'd go with a Schecter. Its got a lot better upper fret access and has the 2 extra frets...23 and 24. But, you should go to a Guitar Center and try em both out.

I just miss the sale at ebay last Christmas. Its sold for only $400 dollars! Damn....I wish the bidding would start again. The C1 classic is the best value for its price with the tone that rivals the expensive Les Pauls and PRS.

This is the guitar to have!

Ya, I'm definately getting the Schecter. Now...the cash. :(

My bass player is from Texas and is always telling me about guitar center. We don't have it in Canada but it sounds like a great store....road trip anyone?
