View Full Version : Song from my band
Well it's the outline of a song, anyway. It still needs lead guitar and vocals and I'm not too happy with the bass parts. There'll be a guitar solo around 3:50. You might remember some of the riffs from a song I posted a while ago, but we've scrapped that song and reused bits.
Please ignore the drums... they sound very bad :o

The name is temporary :D
Tell me what you think, and if you'd change anything.

Nice tempo changes, I think this will work well with some lead alright. The guitar tone reminds me of some thrash bands from the 80's. You ever think of puting a melody over some of the guitar parts? Or even reinforcing them with a counter harmony (played and octave up), the guitars are tight so it should add another dimension to the overall sound. Couldnt make out the bass (on this crap work pc), you planning on adding it in later? I just added bass to a recent recording and it made a massive difference to the tone. Anyway, as far as a collection of riffs for a future song goes, I say it has good potential.

Just listened again through a decent set of headphones, this could be a killer track... man I would love to put some lead over this! It's crying out for some psycho shred licks, the only thing I'm not sure about is the change to clean guitars.... they sound cool but I just don't think they work with the previous riffs... unless you were to bring a solo from the previous heavy bit directly over on the clean guitars, it would have to bring a theme with it though to ease the sudden change of tempo/feel etc... just MHO! Actually the bass sounds goof through on the headphones. Look forward to hearing the finished product. PM me when you post it.

Thanks for the comments. When we put the clean section in, we were mainly trying to add some variety to it. The change might have ended up a bit abrupt, though. When I redo it I'll try'n make the parts join a little more smoothly.
Thanks for listening all.
