hello,
I just bought an acoustic guitar. I have never played guitar before. I am on a mission.... :p There is one song (at this point) I want to learn to play. I realize I just can't learn on song and that I will need to be taught all the basics and whatnot, but I am trying to gear towards this perticular song. I am not in a band, and not looking to be in one. I simply want to do this for fun.
Does anyone know anyone who will teach guitar in my house who may live in the Delaware area?

Teresa

Personally, no, but what is the song? We might be able to help you learn it here.

What song? I doubt you need a teacher for the level of playing you're aiming for (and there's nothing wrong with that either...take it as far as you want). However I did have a teacher starting out, and the 1st song I brought to class to learn he regretted to inform me that I wasn't ready for it and needed something more basic at first (that song was Stairway to Heaven of course :D ). So all in all it depends on what song you're wanting to learn?

the song I first wanted to learn was meant to live by switchfoot, it just had a cool guitar part. the first song I actually ended up learning was itsy bitsy spider. but I attempted the song soon after, and it was really hard... I am self-taught btw. but hey you tell us what song it is, and we'll tell you if it's easy or hard, and help you to learn it as best as we can!

welcome to GT btw!

well, go to your local music store and ask for a teacher. the first few years a teacher is useful.

That's usually the easiest way find a local instructor. If nobody at the store gives lessons the odds are still pretty good that someone there knows someone who does.
