You might want to look into an amp kit to get you started. I think there are several places you can get them from. The only one I know of for sure is www.tedweber.com

This is a project that I would like to do as well some day as well. I have a lot to learn about electronics before I take on that task though. I'd be very interested to see what you find out and decide on, so please let us know what you find.

BTW, how's the Stiletto treating you? I still haven't had a chance to play one yet, but I look forward to finding one after reading what you had to say about it.

ah prsplaya good memory, the amp is great and i will have a nice lenghty review within a week with links so that you will all get the just of it. I finally moved in and got settled in my own place a week ago so i finally got a chance to let the beast rip to give it a honest opinion...not that i have forgotton to keep my peeps informed here at gt. As for amps, currently im researching how to make a vibroclone...a clone of vibroverb and over the next few days ill get back to all the projects i ve dug up.

You can get a 5E3 kit from Mission Amps -- "5E3" is the designation for probably the most famous early Fender Deluxe circuit, something you turn all the way up to 10 to use. :)

edit: here's the link... http://www.missionamps.com/5e3.html
