Help Please!!!!

Hi I am new here.I just unpack my moms guitar and I would love to learn how to play it.Ever since I was a kid i've wanted to play it.Well now im old enough to play it.Im 13 andmy mom said I could barrow it until i get my own.Well now i ve been trying to play it by my self but its to hard.All i need to learn is the basics at least two songs because all i want to do is show my mom i can do it.I know it takes sometime to learn all of that before christmas but i am going to try very hard to do as much as possible.
And i would appreciate if someone would please help me. thank you very much

welcome to GT. just try and get a feel for the guitar. were to put you hands, how to hold it, playing the string you are meaning to. I would study up on some tab, learn how to read it, and what it all means. and, try to find a few basic cords (g,c,d,e,a,exc). this site has alot of great stuff for beginers ( http://www.guitartricks.com/beginners.php )

Hey my mom wouldn't let me play guitar because i already play piano clarinet and trombone so i made a deal and said if i showed her i was real good she will buy me a guitar. this is what i did

get some classical music try classical guitar tab (http://www.classtab.org) or if you play electric try olga (http://www.olga.net/) and get something easy

practice it

make it look and sound complicated by putting in easy hammer ons and pull offs and slides

try something by ace frehley if your mom doesn't play guitar it can look fast and complicated.

this took me two months it may seem along time but i got this awesome guitar.
