Hi guys...

My sister's asked my advice on buying a guitar for her fiance. She's after something VERY cheap, (we're talking £60 - £100, but as close to 60 as possible) just to get him started until he's sure he wants to play, (he's actually a drummer who's not allowed a drum kit).

I'm a little bit out of the loop for guitars in this price range, (it's been years since I looked a guitar less than £300, I must admit!) so I was wondering if anyone could give me any suggestions on brands/models that, whilst cheap and cheerful, are still, relatively speaking, value for money. I'd rather try and get him something that will at least stay in tune and has a nice action than just a "my first guitar which nearly broke my fingers".

Am I gonna struggle in this sort of price range?

Thanks in advance.

If your looking for an acoustic get a cheap $99 dollar epiphone (pretty good quality from what I can tell).

That's a point...£60 - £100 (according to XE.com) is about $104 - $174 (US), if that makes it any easier...(although cheaper if the quality is there is more than acceptable!)

Blues - would you recommend any particular model, or have they only got so many for around $99?

I think she's looking to buy him an acoustic, does this improve the situation at all?

Thanks.

Chris.

id try the squier, thats kindof standtard begginer for me, but look around in your guitar store, you might find something you've never heard of that you like. Personally, i like squiers, easy to handle, and are pretty cheap!100-250, so theres a good area for you.
