I have a good exercise for beginners if you want to learn a sweep pick.
first click in you neck pick-up, it sounds much warmer
second, make sure you have exase to all the strings and your hand must be in right position
third grap an E minor chord starting from your 12th position
E---12
b---12
G---12
D---14
and try to sweep it note for note untill you can play it every time you jam with others
BTW make sure you mute your strings
