Do you like having teeth?! Dont do that too much, if you do, it wears down the outer layer of your teeth! Just hold the guitar up to your face and do some hammer ons and pull offs and fake it.

Or you can be an honest musician and not BS the audience around with been-there-done-that stage shows that don't really effect the quality of the music.

LAME
if Zakk wylde is the first person you've seen pick with his teeth, you should probably go by some Hendrix
Check out Micheal Angelo Batio for some ridiculously pointless stage tricks too.

I do it with my tongue. I'm no great shake at it yet but it's way easier than playing with teeth. In short bursts with alot of HO PO stuff . Try it.

Its easier to do it with your teeth, but since I care for my teeth and your teeth as well, my only advice is to do it with your toungue, in case you have the urge to show off onstage, just make sure to gargle some mouthwash after that coz the strings has some unwanted bacteria coming from your hands and sweat.

If only he'd put as much time into the quality of his music as he does his performance. He's a great guitarist and I like a good chunk of his music, but he's a hit or miss for me. A lot of it just seems to sound the same. And his hair is still wretched looking... as well as his wardrobe.

Yeah, I find some of his stuff listenable (which is more than I can say for many other "shredders").
But what the hell is the use of a four neck guitar? Unless he plays the other 2 with his feet or something...

Which disheartens me. Nothing worse than seeing a perfectly, well crafted instrument built to create music destroyed by some over paid guy who things he needs to destroy stuff to entertain because his music isn't a good enough quality to entertain.

Don't you just love contradictions
In the first portion of that statment you go on to say that the quaility of his mucic is all that matters and anything physical or in otherwords anything you can see such as stage tricks is meaningless. Then by the end of your statement you complain about his hair and his wardrobe as if that makes him a worse guitarist. And btw some of the greatests guitarists in the world like hendrix used stage tricks and it didn't remove anything from his playing quaility. If it doesen't affect the music thats fine with me. And as far as smashing the guitar goes hendrix called it "nothing more then a release i guess" It particularly makes me cringe seeing such a beatiful instrament get smashed to pieces but if thats how they release their energy and they have the money to do so i will not object to it. Hendrix said "If i feel like playing with my teeth or smashing my guitar I DO IT because i feel like it, if the crowd likes it great, if they dont, great, im doing what i feel like doing and expressing myself in ways that i know how. music is all about self expression and i take my self expression to new heights, i dont rely on these gimmicks to entertain the crowd even though they might like watching it."

It doesn't make him a worse guitarist. And Cryptic didn't claim that, he's just making the statement that Batio looks like an idiot, and, honestly, he does.

The guitarist for my friends band played part of "his" purple haze solo with his teeth. Not too sure how he did it, not to mention he only had been playing for 1 1/2 yrs at that point! Some say they saw him pluck it w/ his teeth, some said he was picking it, and some had no clue what to think.

I'll give you that one, but it was just a misinterpretation. His appearance is just icing on the cake, you could say. Have you seen what he looks like recently? He can play, but he's a goon. Moving on, All the stated above is fine by me, and I agree with it. I just happen to be agreeing from a different point of view. I don't feel like smashing any of my gear for any reason and I don't feel like seeing other people do it is all. If someone else does it for one reason or another, then that's fine by me. It's their gear, I just don't agree with what they're doing. Gear smashing is something that just should've never gone past Hendrix. I find it ironic, people inherit the gear smashing for any reason and no one thinks anything of it, but I guarantee that if others started sporting violin bows with guitars in their music they'd be getting Page comparisons out the ass.

Had to drop in two cents re the BAttio pic. THe guy still looks ridiculous after all these years. I honestly believe that he would have more success if he got a haircut and wore some baggy trousers... and lost the big white runner boots etc.... that stuff went out with Anthrax in the 80's!!
That said he is an amazing guitarist. The whole double guitar thing is a joke though, I heard him play it before and it is not impressive at all. I was expecting crazy runs with both hands... more like one hand does open power chords and the other does basic hammer on's/off's.
Hey Mr. Battio, do yourself a favour and:
Lose the silly looking axe! Compose more tracks like No Boundaries!!! And for gods sake, forget about those godawfull keyboards and drum machines!!!!!!!! :p
