hey everyone, im 16 years old, and have been messing aroung with guitars for a few years.. always kinda presured by my grandpa who plays, and my brothers friends... well, i really started to get into playing about a year ago. i have a washburn d-10 acustic.I saved up and mowed yards to get a electric. And got a epiphone les paul special, but its much thiner than a regular les paul, and i cant have that.. lol.
so, my question to you is this.. i want a new guitar and sence i have verry little money, my options are a epiphone sg special. i played one and really liked the way it played, but i know the body is crap. Or i can get a squire strat off a buddie for 90 bucks, and order a custom bodie, and eventually get new pickups, and down the road, a new neck, and make it a true strat. the reason i would go this way is beacuse i have little money at the moment.
i know most of you are gona tell me there both crap, but i dont have much of a budget right now :(
anyways, i appreciate any help

It also depends on whether you have to buy brand new or used.
You'll get a much better deal on a used guitar and it'll be broken in so it's easier to play.

The Ibanez GIO line has a decent sound for the money. If you have a guitar store near you, you should really go try some out and listen to the way they sound.
around $200

I started with one myself. I had a red GIO Ibanez GAX70. I put some Seymour Duncans in it and it screamed.
