There is a Crate BV120H with the matching 4x12 cab selling for $450 in my area. Its retubed and wondering if its a big step up from my mic'd Marshall AVT50. Would i still be able to get a Rageish/Powermanish/Deftonish Distortion? For the price im going to get it anyway because i see these half stacks selling on ebay for a whole lot more.
By the way... this is my first post. Hows it going fellas?
And i have a Boss GT-8 that could possibly clean the amp up a bit.

I had one... they're great amps and are pretty versatile. With the GT-8 you can make a nice amp like htat sound pretty much any way you want. It has a good clean tone and its distortion is more for hard rock than smooth ragae tones.... but with the GT-8 and the BV you would have all the firepower you would need for killler tone. And 450 is a steal on that amp... you can't buy the head for less than a grand anywhere... and hte cab is a beast too!!! Just make sure they didn't switch the celestions out of it.

ah i knew putting that "ish" might have a misunderstanding. I meant Rage. I just love Tom Morello's tone. The cab he said had 2 blown speakers and he replaced them with Jensen's from a Behringer Ultrastack cabinet which probably sound like pure crap (heh, only experienced their car speakers). I have 2 Celestion G12T-75's which i'll put in probably as soon as i get it.
z0s0_jp : are you still running the stock tubes? if not what are you using?
oh yea... this amp/cab has the blue casing with the fat gold lettering. I can only find black for the new ones. How long ago did they stop making these amps?
