I have a cheap Ibanez DS7 and a Big Muff Pi (Russian). I've noticed that when I have the tone high on my Strat, the DS7 creates a lot of noise, especially when I run my fingers along the strings. However, the Big Muff does not do this. Along with creating noise, the tone gets too trebley. When using both tone knobs on the Strat at 0, the DS7 sounds better, but when the pedal is turned off, the clean sounds ugly. Does anyone know why my DS7 does this and if there's anyway to correct it?

Thanks.

Try turning the tone down on the DS7. The noise is gonna happen because every pedal makes noise, some more than others. Your gonna have to full around with the pedal for a while. Try turning down the highs and mids on your amp.

Or you could get an EQ and set it up to have on during your distorted or clean sounds.

I tried that with a Boss GE7 EQ and an OD20 distortion box and the EQ made so much noise it was unbelievable !

Shame really as the GE7 with an MZ2 metal zone (I think) was great !

I bought a GE7 EQ and quickly got it replaced with a different pedal; the amount of noise that thing made was unbelievable.
