I bought Boomers Strings...

Hey
I went to buy a set of strings and the guy there told that he has these new strings that are very good, they are named Boomers, i thought lets try these strings, so i bought them.
They are very good, it says that they feature a nickel plated steel wrap. They sound too metallic, after a while my eyes started hurting, i couldnt stand that metallic sound, (i cant imagine what will happen if i try to play with a chrome slide!). Anyway do you know these strings?
sould i raise my bridge? (i have a Les Paul). Is that metallic sound a result of the strings and the pickups?

Well, if you're talking about GHS Boomers, they are far from new. They're what I play on my guitars right now, but that's mostly because the price is right and they don't break nearly as easily as D'Dario's. As for the tone, just let them break in a bit. I personally like the way they sound.

I use Boomers as well. They are great strings (at least i think so) and i like the way they sound. they also don't break as easily as other strings like BluesShredder said.

I've been playing around with stainless steels as of recent and i've gotten use to the bright sound that comes out of my guitar now, the steel activates the magnets in the pickups and sounds real metallic if your not use to them but they feel really cool their kinda grippy anyways i'm getting side tracked you can dull the sound down a little bit by rolling your tone knob back until you get the sound you want.
