post this question with the forum at http://www.vg-8.com Very knowledable folk. I personally play a vg8 and have never tried a vga7. The vg8 works well for me. I've heard good and bad about the vga7. Essentially it seems a great amp, but it has less options than a vg8 or vg88. Its also very heavy, but if you have roadies, more power to you.

Thanks for that, I did actually buy one and the GK2A pickup. After much fiddling, poking adjusting and measuring, the thing works great. It is as you say very heavy but it's worth it. The really good thing about it is that you can take a solo with the nylon guitar sound without the usual feedback, tinny sound and having to pick uop anotherguitar in the middle of a tune. Very impressive stuff I say.

I agree with the word "impressive". That applies to the vg-8/88 and gr-33 as well.
