Hello I am new to guitars. The one i am learning on has some problems so i will be buying a new one soon..

Question. Is there a big difference between Hard top and a laminant?

And how does the sound compair between a regualr style. and a cutaway.??

I am looking to spend about 200 maybe 230 at the most.. sound and action are the most importan to me. but I also dont want to be worried about maybe playing it in the heat. or outside.. seems temp. and humity is a big problem.

any advise would be great. direction to a link or anything.. thanks.

I have always been a hardcore Ovation fan. The action is one of the best I have found on an acoustic and the sound is outstanding. Temp. and humidity is something you have to worry about w/all guitars but with that being said, Ovations IMHO are one of the best for standing up to changes in temp and humidity. Here is a web page to check out. http://www.samedaymusic.com/product--KAMCC0264

With the budget you have, I suggest getting something used instead of new. Generally, any bad materials or workmanship has already made itself known, so you have less to worry about on that count, and you can usually get good value for your money. So start haunting your local music shop's used & consignment racks, and check out the pawnshops.

And don't limit yourseld to just acoustic guitars unless that's really what you want. An elctric-acoustic or a hollow-body electric may be easier to play than an acoustic in your price range. I recently sold a Washburn Festival Series electric-acoustic for $200US that was worth over $500 new.
