my bird is the coolest animal on earth.

I was listening to "Angel's Don't Kill" by Children of Bodom and he started sweeping with his voice. I'm serious. He started mimicking the sweeping sound. Freakin' amazing.

He really likes electronic music for the huge variety of sounds per song and he's been trying to mimic distorted sounds for a couple weeks now, but he just started sweeping.

Theo, the gods of metal smile upon you.

Dammit. Here I am, practicing my sweeping like it was the only technique out there and your bird goes and probably outdoes me just off listening. Blast!!

don't worry. we're in the same situation. he can outsweep me... *sigh*

i wonder if the fact that he's physically incapable of playing guitar exempts him from taking part in Guitar War?

dude, that's awesome... parrots are fricken smart... I was watching this one segment of this one show, and apparently they have the intelligence of a 5-6 year old child... so they can decipher colors, they can count, etc.
they showed this one parrot, and he asked for water, and he counted how many blocks there were, and how many green ones there were. and a couple other things... the only thing was, they said that it had the temper of a 2-3 year old child, so, occasionally he would purposely would get it wrong, and that it enjoyed frustrating it's trainer.

i'll try. it may be tough; he prefers to do it when the music is on, so you'd hear that probably almost as much as you would from him since i only have the built-in mic. if i got a handheld, it would be tough; usually as soon as you approach him while he's singing, he stops and puffs up his feathers to show how cute he is. and if i left the mid on the ground he'd bite it apart (he's decimated a half dozen of gaby's hair clips, the power cable to her powerbook [$80!!!!!] and a few chopsticks).

it's funny, i've tried Manowar and Pantera, and he seems to vastly prefer Bodom. go figure. he also really likes Aphex Twin, Autechre, Kraftwerk and Leftfield.

we're working on tapping, legato and pinch harmonics. i'm also trying to instill the difference between a Tone Zone in the bridge and a Super Distortion, and trying to get him to nail that Dual Rectifier grind. we'll see.

And thank you for noticing the chin... it has killed before and it will kill again
