I think it would be neat if there was an audio feature added to the GT chat room like Yahoo has. That way people could play their guitars through it

Just a thought

That might not be practical...but it WOULD be pretty sweet if we pulled it off.

How much would something like that cost, Jon?

We'd have to get a pretty high quality system so there's no sound delay...something on a REALLY REALLY fast server that requires a fast connection or something...

I think we're dreaming on this one.

Actually, that is not outside the realm of possibility.

Off the top of my head....

We have this at guitarwar.com, my other site, and it is fun, but not the ultimate cross-the-world jam tool. The fidelity is not so great, and there is no chance of realtime jamming.

It is kind of expensive, so the only way we could afford it would be to have like a 20 person limit. If it got popular, I would have to make it somehow high bandwidth only, which it looks like would leave out a lot of the people making the request.

Also, it is a difficult integration, so it would be a while before I could schedule it.

My other concern is that chat hasn't been too popular here (people don't seem willing to lurk in there long enough to get a chat going) and I would hate to be paying for this, go thru the integration, and have nobody use it.

what do you guys think of all that?
