Pete Townsend's Strat at G8

Did any one see the "Who's" live G8 performance? Townsend was playing a strat that had some type of volume knob or tone knob behind the bridge? Does anyone know what that is?? Just curious.

Someone told me that the extra knob behind the tremelo was for a piezo pickup that he uses. For those who were also wondering....... :p
