a question for you punks

I do already play guitar, but no we wanna start a punkband and I wanna ask what is the best material (eg best guitar, how to create that distortion sound,...)

for sound get a Marshall JCM 800 head with matching cab and turn it all the way up and hit the strings hard with your right hand to get the distorted sound for guitars i don't have a clue, maybe something with low action and high output humbuckers.

First get yourself the tone you want if you wanna go greenday get a marshall jcm 800 and a rosewood strat with seymour duncan jb's or a les paul junior with p-90's wich is billie joes preference now or if you wanna go sex pistol get a marshall and a gibson les paul custom or just go your own way maybe use a mesa boogie instead of a marshall like blink 182 and a strat with a seymour duncan invader pickup. Anyway try putting your bass at 10 treble at 10 and middle at 0.

I don't know very much about guitars.I use an Ibanez and it has a good tone for punk. And for the extra distortion you can use an Ibanez smash box.
