I recieved a guitar for mothers day. I love the sound of the acoustic guitar but I do not even know how to get started. Can anyone help me please. :)

Yea, thats would be a good start...I say check out the tips on this web page, also, buy a chord dictionary and start learning various chord shapes and start practicing...the hardest part of learning is getting your fingers to press down hard enough and change position fast enough.
Also buy yourself a metronome in a while and practise changing chords in time(you can do this in a few weeks once you can play the chords without any buzzing or funny sounds...)

A guitar for mothers day? Wow, someone really loves you out there. I wish I got a guitar for mothers day, but I don't fit the criteria that is needed to be eligable for recieving mothers day presents. :(

As reccommended above, check out the begginners section of the site, any problems, just elt us know, and we'll try help you as best as we can.
