The majority of women tend to be either fat and ugly, manipulative whores, completely emotionally unstable, already taken, or any combination of those. You're better off not tying yourself down to any of them.
Just a pointer- don't ever become friends with any girl you plan on asking out. Anyone who uses the 'a relationship would hurt our friendship' bullocks should be beat senseless and left in a dumpster.

I'm most biased towards not dating as a whole really. I only started this thread since I was at work and quite bored. Just senseless nonsense, but take it where you will. And a girl with arthritis in both hands, well, so long as it's her hands and not her jaw what's it matter?

Well, CE, I'll hand it to you, I fell for that! and I must say, it was a shocking and amazingly funny post.
I am quite in favour of the girlfriend idea,as well as the platonic friend idea, so long as they all know that Michelle, Marie, Charlotte and Evelyn (my 4 much-loved electrics) come first...If they got that down, then that's alright...
And;it has to be said, girls who paly guitar are awesome, not only do they make good girlfriends(I wish I could back that one up), but lets face it, they are sexy, no matter what the look like(well not NO Matter, but even if they are not really beautiful)

Agreed.
However, (I apologise if any females on this forum take any offence to this but…) women can be so god dam touchy. I have a friend of the female gender in school, I really liked her and as far as I could tell she liked me. We started to act on said mutual attraction and started to see more of each other outside of school, I wouldn’t really call it dating, but it was close enough to dating.
Anyway at a school camp I say one thing which gets misinterpreted and BAM  , the relationship goes up sh!t creek.
Took us almost 6 months to get the relationship back to being close friend. I explained that the what was interpreted was not the intention of the comment. But it was never the same.
I think I might go and have a cry now. :(

I do not believe that you should become friends with a girl just to ask her out later, however, I find nothing wrong with asking out someone who is a friend already.
sure, a girlfriend can get expensive, and they can get pretty emotional and mood swingy once a month (if you know what I mean) but it's like having someone who is better then a best friend... that you can make out with... that will always be there for you... plus, everyone likes feeling loved

I think that most people who say they are against dating for some reason or another are those people who haven't had a girlfriend or boyfriend. Thats how I used to be. Saying I didn't want to have all these girlfriends and have to go through all the problems that come with them. And believe me, there were a ton of girls chasing me, and by a ton a mean anything but.. Than I found a girl that I liked and she liked me back. Things ended up not working out, but my whole not dating thing kinda went to the wayside. Its probably an excuse that people use to make themselvs feel better. Now I have so much confidence in myself it dosen't even matter.

Hmm... I agree with crazywolf. When ever guys start the whole 'who needs a girlfriend, they all are bla bla bla, Im happier single bla bla bla' the people around them are secretly thinking 'yea your only saying that cos you are single!!'.
Truth is, everyone is unique... and gender doesnt play any significant part in a persons traits or characterists.
Being single has few advantages. I know that sounds insensitive to those who are but when you have a girlfriend you like a lot or love then you have someone that you can talk to about anything, someone you can take to your family get togethers and be proud of, someone that will hug you when other people cant sense you need a hug, someone that will buy you a silly present that means more to you than a guitar yet no one else would have thought of getting you it, someone who makes you feel so happy and content with when you wake up in the morning or your bored for 5 mins as you wait on a tv show starting.
If I didnt have a girlfriend then Id be spending the day in the pub with my other pals.. playnig pool. I enjoy it, but it can get boring. Theres good weather today, and Im seeing my girl in 25mins. We are going through to Edinburgh (Edinburgh is the captial of Scotland! I live in a town nearby) and we are gona shop a bit, get some dinner, then go see a movie, then come home and snuggle up together in bed and watch 'Meet the Fockers' which she made me download for her!! :)

Being single has few advantages.
People were not meant to be alone. It is a lot of fun being single, but I know that I would be much better off with a woman in my life to keep me under control. If I were to remain single, I could almost guarantee that I would not live past 30. I am like a de-railed train, and with out anyone to "keep tabs on me" there is no telling what I will do.
Sharing your heart and life with another person really makes you grow individually too. My parents have told me about how much they grew as people when they got married, but also when they had kids.

Last x-mas I got a toy guitar from Sophie. When you push the button it does a cool solo! And it even has a semi-working trem bar.
Girlfriends are cool. I've been with Sophie for almost 2 years, which is a long time considering i'm only 16; it's 1/8 of my life, kinda scary really.

I just finnished school back in South Africa, so my hair is also currently shortish(well, getting longer now, down to my chin), we have to keep our hair short when in school, as for jobs, some of em rock, I am allowed to grow as much hair as I want, infact, my Boss has long dreads down his back, and three big spikes coming out of his lower lip, so I am alright.
Yea, jobs are also handy for getting new gear, and as a self-confessed gear-head, I am always keen to do this.

Sad to see you think that about my gender. But sometimes I have to agree... I see some nasty ones out there.
I have an emotinally unstable friend, and I know a few manipulative girls too and I can fully agree with you there but hey, man, we're not all so bad.
I'm not fat, and I don't think I'm ugly (not drop-dead gorgeous either), I'm not manipulative (very independant if anything as I don't always like to depend on other people), and one doesn't have to try to find the hidden 'girl' meaning behind my words. I'm a pretty emotionally sensible person (don't get off my head easy). Not trying to say I'm perfect, but I am trying to point out that we're not all so bad!
And on the point of being friends before having a more serious relationship - who gives a crap. If something 'else' is there, then something else is there. If something 'else' isn't present, then it isn't. I prefer not beating about the bush when it comes to that. I wouldn't be offended if a guy friend said he actually had more feelings for me. My reaction would depend on what my feelings were toward him and if I felt the same, but I can assure you that if I didn't have the same feelings, I'd feel awful :(

I've had my share of women and problems in the past, but now I got the same girl for some time and she's just beautifull and actually has a personality :p not trying to offend anyone but I've met some 'blondes' who are just beauty and nothing else and I really hate that
respect Renisenb for being so honest, there have always been many girls (just like guys) who follow the majority, simply put it's really sad, therefor many people generalize on that majority as if everyone is like that, never judge prematurely! and now I'll stop typing cause I'm getting too serious

I dont think any girl would be offended by summin like that, but like you said, you would feel awful, which is what would make things change between the two people involved...one would feel embarrassed and the other,guilty...and that's just a big balls up...but should it go the other way, both of you could find an awesome relationship...

Car forums are good too. ;) Some of them are just crap about NOS, but lots of them are really cool. Specifically I like the Corvette and RX-8 forums.

Bollocks. Now that must be an English word...
... and ford focuses are severely ridiculed among the muscle car community. If you have any sense of manlyness you will not propose to buy a purple ford focus. Even if you are meaning it to be 'bollocks' :D
Is that the proper usage of bollocks?

yeah i was thinkin that. Renisenb did you mean to say tosh? then ya would be right but only really used by posh people who live on a big country estate.
an example...
"I can run faster than that car!"
"Tosh!!!" translated means "nonsense"
another way to use bollocks is if you have messed somethin up. like you forgot something or dropped ya bag full of work into a large puddle. you would then say "Bollocks"

The old ones are quite bad about steering. And they will kill any car at a burnout. Ever heard of the RX-8? 50/50 weight distribution gives it cornering like nothing on the road. Rotary engine sucks at acceleration but redlines at 9,000 RPM. Now that's impressive. The sound is also simply heavenly when you're at that RPM. Never driven one but I've watched in-car vids of track days and also drift racing.
And as for Tosh and Bosh. I haven't heard tosh, but an author I read a lot of books by, who is English and wrote them somewhere around in the 1920's, uses 'bosh' a lot. I guess one can use either.

my girlfriend plays the piano... *and* sings... quite well, might I add...
as for jobs... yeah, I need one... but I'm only 15... and apparently there is some law in california saying you have to be 16...
as for cars... I'll take a porsche 911, but if we are talking about manly muscle cars... then I'll take a '67 mustang. and I will definately not say no to any ferrarai
my hair is pretty short compared to other people on here... my bangs come down to my eye... but I just got it cut a few weeks ago... it used to come to my chin...
The 65 and up Stangs are hot.
As for the ones of today, well, just about anything can smoke them unless it's modded a lot or is a bottle baby (a.k.a. nitrous tank in the trunk). I see tons of Zeds (that's slang for Nissan 350z's) on the road here in Tx.

Hah I had no idea that bollocks... oh man. Me, I am stuck in Texas USA. Very boring indeed. Pickup truck and cowboy hats. *sigh*
Black is better but it's still a wimpy 4 cylinder, you know.
VW Golf is okay... but it's still not right.
Anybody got any ideas? I have. How about a Corvette? You could get a used C5 (which is what I plan to get) or better yet, a used C5 ZO6!!!
Oooh, yes, now that is more like it.
Golf 5 uses a 2.5l 5 cyl that has nothing but midrange torque, and the GTI model uses a 2.0T that gets great torque and will probably end up being a highly tunable engine.
the mk4 (99-05) Golf uses an anemic 2.0 or a lackluster 1.9l Turbodiesel, while the GTI comes in an insanely-tunable 1.8l turbo inline 4 or a 2.8l "inline-vee" 45 degree angle six cylinder engine, AKA the VR6, which gets awesome low end and midrange torque. on the older 12v VR6's the engine gets better low end torque at the cost of high-end, and the newer 24v with variable valve timing gets less low end but more high end; it's more consistent across the board.
a C5 is car enough for practically anyone; i love the fact they still use an OHV 350 and live rear axle in a modern sports car... torque is socket-popping, and handling is great, plus it looks good... tough to beat. the Z06 uses the 405hp LS6, which is basically the same 350 with different heads and other internals that gives it an overall power boost. i disliked the Z06 for a simple reason when i sold Chevy's: you can't get the removable top. phh. WTF's the point of a Corvette in Southern California if the top doesn't at least come off, if not down? structural rigidity on the standard 'Vette was better too, because of the metal pillar instead of the fiberglass roof.
handling on a Vette is as good as it gets for American muscle and it still gets eaten alive on tracks by a Lotus Elise with a 1.8l Toyota engine (which also beats out a Viper and a Ferrari of some sort... forget what model). personally i'll take something that's lightweight, simple, handles like it's on rails and has a screaming engine... like a Caterham/Lotus Super 7 with a modified Suzuki Hayabusa 1300cc motorcycle engine (0-60 in 3.1 seconds).
something like a Nissan Skyline GT-R, pref. an R32 or R34, would be sweet too, especially if it was modded beyond all reason. for manliness nothing will ever beat an El Camino with a blown 502.
back to reality... i drive a 2000 Jetta VR6 stick, i have a job, my hair is kind of short, my girlfriend is busty and an architecture major. hooray for me.

Wooooow. You know a lot! I really disliked the Lotus' looks in the beginning but it's actually really cool now that it's had a chance to grow on me.
It's inky dinky though. I probably couldn't even fit in it comfortably. Top Gear did a really neat review on it where they raced a helicopter. It was an Apache vs a Lotus. If you haven't seen it...it's still available for download here http://www.bbc.co.uk/topgear/downloads/
The Toyota Hilux video is hysterical. And the Astie vs. train is good too.

yeah, the elise is not the prettiest looking car ever; there are a few rolling around the neighborhood here and there's one that's a beige-silver that's pretty hot, and another that's graphite colored that looks nice. but most of the ones i see are canary yellow or this hideous yellow-orange that looks... hideous with the black vents and trim. but the handling is just NUTS. i'd like to see what one could do if you turned the engine over to a tuning company and let them go nuts, but, you'd also have to readjust the suspension and whatnot to compensate. Lotuses have always followed the traditional English sports car model and have been about total balance rather than brute strength.
hiluxes are invincible... there was an autoweek where they tested a Tacoma (same thing) to see how much punishment it could take. it was
-submerged
-burnt
-shot
-dropped
-crashed
-hit by a wrecking ball
and finally, the coup de grace...
-put on top of a building that was imploded
and the thing STILL RAN, albiet not in a straight line... i heard a quote somewhere, "in a thousand years the world will be dominated by giant cockroaches with opposable thumbs that drive Toyota pickups."
i actually like the seating position in them; it's like being in a high-up race car.

Your efforts, appreciated, though in vain. The spin off page is much more of a success. I guess this one jumped the shark. And here comes another leap when I give it this pointless bump that I'm sure many of you will read and think "what a waste" or something like that, but you know what? Oh well. I generally waste the majority of your time when I post regardless and you're never going to get any of that time in your life back ever again.

It's true, no one is judging you here... unless you're a non-believer. If you come here to join with my brethren then it matters not who or what brought you here. We have a common goal. And that goal is to praise my awesomeness. So including myself, we've got 4 people involved now? Good start. I say we start with trying to get John to give me my own private thread section where only believers may enter. After that... who knows? I'm thinking if we can muster up enough of a demand then how could he argue, right? Let us commence forth now. Bring me more stuff.
