Ok, i dont have tons of money so i was gonna ask what is the bestr way to get a room to have better acoustics for practice, because my band will have to relocate soon and we are gonna use my attic but it needs to be insulated or something so that sound is good and doesnt go outside all over town. What is the cheapest way and some other ways that arent to expensive, i was thinking styrofoam becuase it is cheaper, what do you think? please help

Egg boxes break up reflections but they are not good insulators.
Sound proofing is not easy !

There's a difference in soundproofing and sounddeadening. That styrafoam and egg crate stuff will only help deaden the sound. It will not do much if anything to stop the sound from escaping outside. Do some research here (http://homerecording.com/bbs/index.php?) for some good infor on soundproofing/deadening.

In the basement my former band played in we used thick rugs and egg cartons and that worked quite well.

Thick rugs are good, especially for hanging over the front of doors.
