hello to all here my name is dave been playing of and on for the last 16 years im self taught by eyes and ears ive tried to learn theory from books videos and cds but find it difficult to comprehend i play along with cds like srv carlos santana gary moore acdc zz top luv the blues stuff i just play along in my own way i dont play note for note because i cant my problem is i cant play a whole song from start to finish only bits and pieces i just find it frustrating as i know chords and scales i luv to solo i play by my own ear can anyone suggest or give me some help toward understanding theory and formulas of the axe without frustration? :confused:

Hi Dave,
There are many lessons on this site that are related to theory. Dr. Simon has quite a few of them. You might want to check out his lessons and tutorials. Do you jam with others? That's a good way to learn a song from start to finish. Based on the guitar influences you listed: (IMO)you've got great taste in music Dave.

cheers doug tnx 4 the advice and no i dont jam with others i know it would help but im so self consious that i dont know a song frm start to finish that people would judge me lol i will check out dr martin cheers and happy jamin
