Since the GT4 thread created a bit of discussion, I thought i'd create this thread.
Anyone ever wonder what it would be like if Polyphony made a real motorbike simulator. I for one would love to see a game like this.
Anyone else?

I meant as in motorbikes.
My fault for the misleading thread header. I'll edit it.

I have the real thing (1986 Yamaha FJ1200S) so I don't have much use for a computer game.

Hey I have a car but I still enjoy Gran Turismo!
Personally I think they should combine cars and bikes in GT5.
That game on a new PS3 and I wouldn't leave the house for a year!

Anykind of simulator could work nicely as long as a good engine is employed.
Ive always enjoyed the idea of a band simulator(well, since ive been playing guitar)...you pick an instrument and start without any contacts and junky equipment. After initial training and attribute assigning you can assemble jam partners, audition, claim a self titled project needing members e.c.t.Soon you have a band together and create material and define your sound. How this could be done virtually ive yet to figure out.You then tour around, needing equipment upgrades as needed...soon a record label takes interest. This goes on until you find an offer suitible(sign on for 3 albums e.c.t.).Then skys the limit...
You could shoot to be an underground death metal band or big stadium rock group with tons of air time.As many companys would be included,so everything down to your plectrum and drum sticks could be chosen by brand.
eh,i'm done dreaming.

in Japan there have been "life simulator" games around for the past 15 or so years; basically RPG's that are rooted in normal lives and jobs as opposed to elves and orks.
initially they started with school simulators, i.e. you play a kid who is in 7th or 8th grade who's just starting at a new school, and you need to help him make friends, become a hit with the ladies, and still get good grades all at once. now there are ones that are more complex, where you can, for instance, start hanging out with goth kids and begin dressing like them; or, if you start dating a preppie girl and she wants you to wear a polo shirt, you do that and alienate them; you actually have to get the answers right on a test for him to pass to go on the class trip to xxx destination and solidify his/her position as coolest kid in school, etc.
if i knew Kanji, i would list some names and tell you how good they are or aren't, but, i start Japanese this summer...

That's fine thanks LATS.
But wouldn't you rather have every Yamaha ever made instead of just one? :p
