Fellow guitarists,
I've been a rock player for over 20 years now.A while back I began to get into theory and made some decent improvements to my style by learning modes inside and out. That led me to mode generated chords and other ways of modulating scales, etc.
But I still seem to lack the overall style that I am aiming for.For ahile I didn't even now what I wanted, and just figured I'd recognize it when I heard it. But I finally figured it out. It's Heavy Fusion that I'm trying to achieve. By learning my modes, I'm half way there, but I still can't seem to lay down the kind of "7#9" (The Hendrix chord) chords into a working progression, and do it with ease.
Does anyone know of a website, book, or video that deals with Heavy Fusion.
If I sit down for awhile and experiment, I eventually can come up with an intense sounding progression, with some sweeps and diminished sounding scales riffs thrown in. But I know that if I were to learn some elements of jazz/rock scale / chord construction , it would just flow.
Major thanks in advance.
